Kankwari

Kankwari Fort in Alwar is one of the major attractions for visitors to the world famous Sariska National Park. The ancient Kankwari Fort lies in the buffer area of the sanctuary about 21 km from its main entry point. Though the fort is lesser known but it holds special significance in the history of medieval India.

The village was evicted in 2009, but renovation works in the fort are going on to promote tourism. As of August 2016, only three families reside in the village below the fort, but their migration is in progress by the government
